Grinding and Polishing Worker, Hand jobs in Lynchburg, VA

Greer Industries is seeking a Mine Manager for the Greer Lime Company Plant located in Riverton, West Virginia.

Position Summary:

• Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for the overall management and planning of Kiln and Fine Grinding departments. This includes two coal fired preheater rotary lime kilns, hydrated lime plant, limestone grinding facility, and three bagging operations. This position will oversee 20-25 employees, including 3-4 Assistant Foreman.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Overall management of Kiln and Fine Grinding Departments
• Management and planning of production, housekeeping, and maintenance
• Recordkeeping and reporting for production and maintenance
• Monitoring and management of product quality
• Coordination with shipping department and laboratory to ensure adequate product quality and availability to cover customer demand for all products
• Weekly safety meetings and compliance to safety and environmental regulations, including proper training of employees and training records
• Management and training of mobile equipment used in departments
• Management of procurement of consumables, parts, and spare parts
• Scheduling of technicians for maintenance, inspections, audits, etc.
• Supervision, management, and scheduling of department employee
• Coordination of production, maintenance, etc. with other department manager
• Supervision of employees outside of departments if necessary

Position Requirements:

• Five to ten years of rotary kiln experience, with five years of supervisory experience preferred
• Engineering background preferred
