Barn Hand / Farm Hand Position

• Ponca Hills Farm is a premier 300 acre equestrian facility that offers boarding, training and lessons.
• We are looking for a dedicated farm, barn, or stable worker for a full time position.
• Practice social distancing and enjoy nature by being outside and working with horses!
• Full time position. Hours are from 7:30 am - 3:30 pm with an hour lunch.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Morning and afternoon feeding hay and grain
• Attention to detail- specific diets, medications, and supplements; monitoring horse’s habits, health, and behavior
• Comfortability handling horses- walking horses on the lead rope, turning them out to their pastures, moving around them in their stalls, putting on halters, etc.
• Mucking 3-4 barns, 50 stalls daily
• Cleaning & sweeping barn
• Unloading and stacking hay bales
• Chores around barn and farm- trash, cleaning bathrooms, weeding gardens, fixing fences, weed-eating, leaf-blowing, shoveling snow, etc

Must:

• Be able to easily lift 75lb. hay bales.
• Be at work when you’re supposed to be- excellent attendance required. We can be flexible about your schedule but the horses are expecting you to be there at 7:30 sharp on the days you’re scheduled so they can eat.
• Handle all types of Nebraska inclement weather
• Be a team player but self motivated- if you finish a task, start another one
• Have reliable transportation
• Have a Nebraska drivers license
• Ability to drive a tractor is a plus.
• Experienced preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
