Grinding and Polishing Worker, Hand sets-up and operates automatic machines that cut, grind, or polish glass products such as glass tubes or glassware. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Grinding and Polishing Worker, Hand may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Grinding and Polishing Worker, Hand relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Responsibilities:
- Assist with general maintenance and upkeep of equipment and shop
- Repair and maintain equipment used on farm
- Utilize mechanical knowledge/experience to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues
- Use hand tools to complete various tasks such as building and repairing
-Opportunities for tractor work and trucking work during chopping
Experience:
- Knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues is beneficial
- Familiarity with hand tools and their proper use is desired
This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, the ability to work independently and knowledge on how to prioritize. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working along with a willingness to learn new skills.
