Grocery Store Manager Assistant assists the store manager with the day-to-day operations of a grocery store. Implements strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability. Being a Grocery Store Manager Assistant ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient. Maintains store appearance and product presentation to company standards. Additionally, Grocery Store Manager Assistant provides support to sales associates during peak periods or when scheduling conflicts arise. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Grocery Store Manager Assistant supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. 1. Responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that all associates provide the same, always.
2. Direct employees during peak and slow traffic periods to keep productivity at peak levels.
3. Resolve customer and employee concerns in a timely and satisfactory manner.
4. Oversee the warehouse and repair room areas of the store.
5. Oversee the sales floor area of the store.
6. Responsible for ordering Ace and direct order merchandise, as necessary.
7. Provide training necessary to develop employees the ability to grow within our company.
8. Responsible for assigned employees to include daily duties and projects. This includes employee monitoring and evaluating.
9. Maintain a high level of housekeeping throughout the entire store.
10. Authorize returns.
11. Arrange for and participate in store meetings.
12. Introduce new items to store inventory.
13. Monitor shrinkage and theft and recommend ways to reduce theft and loss in the store.
14. Assist with the display of merchandise throughout the store for maximum sales.
15. Work 45-50 hours per week to include every other weekend and one evening per week.
16. Some hardware experience necessary.
