Grocery Store Manager Assistant assists the store manager with the day-to-day operations of a grocery store. Implements strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability. Being a Grocery Store Manager Assistant ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient. Maintains store appearance and product presentation to company standards. Additionally, Grocery Store Manager Assistant provides support to sales associates during peak periods or when scheduling conflicts arise. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Grocery Store Manager Assistant supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the entire team, ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service
- Oversee all aspects of shift management, including scheduling, training, and performance management
- Coordinate and manage catering events, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas
- Assist with food preparation and cooking as needed
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Manage inventory and order supplies as necessary
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences
Experience:
- Previous experience in hospitality or food service management is required
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and sanitation practices
- Experience in banquet or event management is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
