We're looking for Assistant Store Manager (Shipping, Packing & Printing Associate) for an established, fast-paced local franchised UPS Store to contribute to the success of our business. We're looking for a dynamic person with great communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to multi task. The successful candidate should be great at customer service and computer skills. In addition, candidate must be outgoing, friendly, work independently, multi-tasking and loves to work with public.
As Assistant Store Manager, you are responsible to help run day-to-day operations for this retail location. He/She may be required to open and close the center, help manage productivity and assure world-class customer service delivery of the team, monitor cost control and expenses, and contribute to weekly and monthly reports developed by the Center Manager and provided to the franchise owner. The Assistant Manager is involved with profit/loss, continuous improvement, service delivery levels, personnel management, and business development. The ideal Assistant Center Manager candidate has a high school diploma/GED (college coursework or degree desired), two years retail store operations experience, strong supervisory/managerial skills, excellent computer/Internet/software knowledge, the physical ability to perform this job (lifting, bending, etc.), and knows how to listen, follow, lead, and help the Center Manager attain defined targets. He/She will have a dynamic personality and can help motivate a team to optimize performance.
Requirements:
- At least have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Fluent English-speaking and writing skills
- Minimum 2 years previous retail customer service/sales experience.
- Friendly outgoing attitude, fast learner, with attention to detail a must.
- Prompt, reliable, and responsible.
- Strong communication - verbal/written and phone skills, including strong spelling and math skills.
- Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Office, Adobe, Emails, Internet etc.).
- Familiar with POS /cash register systems, copiers, scanners, and fax machine.
- Able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis as needed. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Manual hand dexterity to operate POS, copiers, complete customer paperwork and properly pack and ship customer shipments
- Must have valid driver license and reliable transportation
- Availability and willingness to work a flexible schedule with availability to work all scheduled shifts, including weekends. Schedules are generally made one month in advance to allow associates to plan accordingly and make scheduling requests.
- Ability and willingness to become a Virginia Notary. Notary training will be provided
Preferred:
- 1 to 2 years retail shipping store experience (UPS Store, FedEx, PostNet, USPS etc.)
- Document services job experience (Staples, FedEx, OfficeMax, etc.)
- Graphics design experience (Adobe and Publisher applications etc.)
- General packing and shipping experience
- Ability to up-sell and cross-sell
- General Sales and Marketing experience a plus!
Store Hours of Operation:
Mon-Fri 8:00am - 7.00pm, Sat 9.00am - 5.00pm, Sun 10.00am - 3.00pm
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
