Grocery Store Manager plans and directs the day-to-day operations of a grocery store. Develops strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability. Being a Grocery Store Manager ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient. Ensures all products and displays are merchandised effectively to maximize sales and profitability. Additionally, Grocery Store Manager forecasts staffing needs and develops a recruiting strategy to provide optimal staffing in all areas. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Grocery Store Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Grocery Store Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Responsibilities: include but are not limited to
· Manage the operations of the store
· Train Store Assistant and Store Employees
· Work a minimum of 5 days a week and 35-40 hours per week
· Be able to work on opening and closing shift minimum of 5 days a week
· Attend mandatory Lead Manager meetings
· Responsible for covering a shift if Store Assistant or Store Employee are not available to come in to work
· Ability to give great customer service
· Able to communicate fluently and clearly
· Have proper selling skills to complete WIC transactions correctly
· Fliers are a key part of job, so must be able to stand outside of store or go to WIC clinics to pass out fliers
· Be able count store inventory and submit into Cygnus (FTS) system
· Verify, count, and receive merchandise delivered from vendors and warehouse and key in Cygnus (FTS) correctly
· Fill out Jolt forms such as, Adjustments, Store Reviews, Expirations dates on products
· Cleaning of store which includes, mopping and sweeping bathrooms, coolers, and the rest of the store
· Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
· Be able submit store orders to warehouse
· Make sure that all minimum required items are always stocked at store. Most importantly, Best Choice Items
· Be able to process Cash log and submit information correctly in Jolt and to the office
· Must be able to train the keys for success in running a well-managed store which are: Suggestive Selling, Pay to Revenue, Passing Out Fliers, Greeting Customers, Carrying out Groceries, Dress Code and a having a Clean an Organized Store at all times.
