Our client 20 year record of continued growth in the Pittsburgh Region with an impeccable reputation and is rapidly expanding operations with the opening of two new marque store openings in the next 60 days. This expansion requires adding an experienced Grocery Manager to the team.

Their customer base has been built on tremendous customer service and unique grocery offerings including fresh hand cut meats and savory menu items.

You'll work with and report directly to the Store Leader of their largest store. No heavy layers of bureaucracy here!

The Grocery Manager responsibilities will include ordering of product and supplies for the department and implementing merchandising initiatives that promote sales, while meeting customer requirements and maximizing profits.

You'll enjoy a pay level of $60,000 - $70,000, Gold Level Health Insurance, a purchase discount on all items in the store and many other benefits.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Manages Center Store Grocery, Dairy and Frozen department inventories by tracking weekly sales reports and orders product and supplies so as to meet customer requirements and the company’s gross profit goals.
• Schedules all associates in the departments, oversees and assists with their training, rewards and recognizes their performance and delegates their work assignments so as to most effectively utilize their talents and abilities while maximizing profits for the department.
• Develops and implements localized merchandising plan for the departments, sets up and creates displays for new and seasonal items as well as items that are tied-in with other department promotions, in order to meet the sales and profit objectives of the store and the department.
• Controls department expenses by improving operations and efficiencies, by controlling labor costs and by reducing losses due to shrinkage and pilferage.
• Keeps merchandise clean and fresh so as to meet all health department regulations, pass sanitation inspections and meet company standards.
• Ensures that associates work and operate equipment in a safe manner at all times, complying with OSHA requirements.
• Develops and maintains communications with other departments in order to devise marketing plans, which will help meet the financial objectives of the store.
• Identifies areas in departments where improvement in customer service is required, then implements changes and procedures to address these needs.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous Grocery managerial experience of 3 years.
• Good leadership skills to direct the work of others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for dealing with customers, associates and vendors, above average analytical skills to understand and interpret various reports.
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite of products, including excel spreadsheets.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
