Groundskeeper cuts and maintains lawns and grass. Rakes leaves and cares for plants, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Being a Groundskeeper determines the appropriate plants or shrubs for walkways or garden areas. Provides grounds maintenance in all seasons. Additionally, Groundskeeper is responsible for snow and dirt removal. Keeps the grounds and environment of a facility in a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy condition. Operates light trucks and assorted power equipment. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment. May require horticultural training. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Groundskeeper works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Job duties include the following:
Golf Course Setup
Mowing of Turf grass throughout the golf course
Raking of sand traps
String trimming and detail mowing
Ornamental and flower bed maintenance
Leaf and debris cleanup
Irrigation of golf course and flower beds
Assist with golf projects
Pruning of trees and shrubs
Cart path maintenance
Cleaning of golf course maintenance equipment
Available work schedules may include:
Six month duration of 29 hours a week or;
Four month duration of 40 hours a week
