Groundskeeper cuts and maintains lawns and grass. Rakes leaves and cares for plants, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Being a Groundskeeper determines the appropriate plants or shrubs for walkways or garden areas. Provides grounds maintenance in all seasons. Additionally, Groundskeeper is responsible for snow and dirt removal. Keeps the grounds and environment of a facility in a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy condition. Operates light trucks and assorted power equipment. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment. May require horticultural training. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Groundskeeper works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Position Description:
Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 2nd Shift (2:00pm - 10:00pm). Performs routine groundskeeping on assigned campus, as needed. Performs routine building cleaning tasks and assists in minor maintenance duties. Work involves some strenuous manual labor and the operation of heavy landscaping and cleaning equipment. The work involves the thorough execution of tasks, which follow a well-established routine under general supervision.

Required: Working knowledge of groundskeeping and cleaning methods, materials and equipment; ability to follow oral and written directions; manual dexterity.
Valid and current drivers license. Confirmation following DMV check that driving record meets standards set forth by the colleges liability insurance carrier.
Additional Information:
Salary: $15.55 - $16.64/hour. Excellent benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, and NYS retirement.
