Groundskeeper jobs in New Haven, CT

The Catholic Cemeteries Association of the Archdiocese of Hartford, Inc. is currently seeking seasonal Groundskeepers to join our crew! In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of landscape maintenance and cemetery-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cemetery grounds using zero-turn mowers and string trimmers.

• Complete cemetery clean-ups and improvement projects.

• General groundskeeping including leaf blowing, mulching, watering trees, etc.

• Work with a variety of hand tools including, shovels, rakes, hedge trimmers, string trimmers, etc.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

• Must have a reliable mode of transportation.

• Must be able to lift weights up to 80 lbs. or more with assistance. Position requires heavy physical effort with proper bending, squatting, stretching, pushing, climbing, dragging, and pulling.

• Must be dependable and work well with others.

• Must serve a three-month probationary period.

• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screening.

Working Conditions

Work is performed outdoors. Grounds crew is exposed to all types of weather throughout the year. This includes sun, heat and humidity, cold, rain, snow and wind. They are subject to noise, vibration, dirt, dust, and mud. This position is an 8 month long seasonal position, 40 hours per week.

Salary

$16.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

• North Haven, CT: Relocate before starting work (Required)
