Being a Groundskeeper, Sr. determines the appropriate plants or shrubs for walkways or garden areas. Provides grounds maintenance in all seasons. Additionally, Groundskeeper, Sr. is responsible for snow and dirt removal. Keeps the grounds and environment of a facility in a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy condition. Operates light trucks and assorted power equipment. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment. May require horticultural training. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Groundskeeper, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Essential Job Functions :
Maintain the lawns by mowing, watering, performing weed
control and planting flowers and seed.
Remove litter and collecting refuse for disposal.
Plant, prune and maintain trees and shrubs.
Remove snow and ice from driving and pedestrian areas.
Replace / post outdoor signs.
Report observed problems to appropriate departments for treatment / repair.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements :
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Frequent operation of lawn equipment, tools and machinery.
Functional ability in the use of grounds equipment and knowledge of general lawn care planning and maintenance.
