Groundskeeper, Sr. cuts and maintains lawns and grass. Rakes leaves and cares for plants, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Being a Groundskeeper, Sr. determines the appropriate plants or shrubs for walkways or garden areas. Provides grounds maintenance in all seasons. Additionally, Groundskeeper, Sr. is responsible for snow and dirt removal. Keeps the grounds and environment of a facility in a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy condition. Operates light trucks and assorted power equipment. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment. May require horticultural training. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Groundskeeper, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Automation Personnel Services is looking for a hard-working Groundskeeper for a company based in Athens, AL. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the care, modification, and maintenance of the grounds. This is a temporary position that will last until Thanksgiving.
Pay Rate
$15.00 per hour.
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Groundskeeper Duties and Responsibilities- Perform various tasks to care for the grounds and landscaping of the property by seeding, watering, mulching, and fertilizing.
- Performs regular and directed grounds and landscape maintenance by mowing lawns with riding or push mowers; trimming and edging around trees, shrubs, ground cover, flowers, sidewalks and buildings; weeding, thinning and cleaning flower beds and other grounds by hand or utilizing proper tools and equipment; and setting up, adjusting, repairing, and cleaning irrigation systems.
- Performs property wide general maintenance and repairs by installing, removing, repairing and maintaining landscape lighting, signs, fences, and walls; and repairing streets, parking lots, as applicable.
- Removes trash and debris from public areas.
- Ensures that grounds maintenance equipment and building maintenance equipment are operational by performing routine and preventative maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment and machines within reasonable capabilities.
- Background check and drug screen are required.
- Must be able to operate equipment such as push mowers, tractors, weed eaters, leaf blowers, lawn vacuums, etc.
- Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing as well as understand written work orders and instructions as well as directions for the proper mixture, use, and disposal/storage of cleaners, solvents, chemicals, fertilizers and similar products used in grounds keeping.
- Must be able to move 100 pounds.
