Groundskeeper, Sr. cuts and maintains lawns and grass. Rakes leaves and cares for plants, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Being a Groundskeeper, Sr. determines the appropriate plants or shrubs for walkways or garden areas. Provides grounds maintenance in all seasons. Additionally, Groundskeeper, Sr. is responsible for snow and dirt removal. Keeps the grounds and environment of a facility in a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy condition. Operates light trucks and assorted power equipment. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment. May require horticultural training. JOB SUMMARY: With minimal supervision: mows grass, plows snow, waters lawns, trims shrubs, tends flower beds and regularly inspects assigned work areas to ensure proper standards are maintained. Loads and unloads dirt, gravel, sand, mulch, and debris.

MINUMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED FOR POSITION: High School diploma or GED required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have the ability to: lift and carry 50 lbs., safely operate power and hand tools and equipment common to grounds maintenance work, recognize and correctly interpret common safety warning signs and communicate effectively in the English language. Must be able to squat, bend, crouch, stoop, reach overhead, climb and twist. Must possess fine motor control and good hand/eye coordination for operating power tools and equipment. May be called upon to work outdoors for long periods of time in uncomfortable environments including wet, hot, cold or windy conditions.
SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR POSITION: Knowledge of and/or the ability to learn how to develop and maintain lawns, landscaped beds, trees, hardscape areas and general grounds around the Casino and safely use the tools and equipment used to accomplish this work. Must have the ability to work flexible hours including overtime. Some weekend and holiday work will be required. Must have the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow team members. Must have a current valid Washington state driver’s license and maintain while in this position.
