Montecito Bank & Trust is seeking a Commercial Lending Group Intern to join our Commercial Lending Group department. This internship is in a fast-paced environment and the intern will work with all members of this department as well as other Bank Departments as needed.

Minimum Requirements, Activities & Responsibilities

 Education and Experience: 

• A high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of College/University coursework preferred; most relevant coursework would include Accounting, Data Science, & Business.

 Intern Responsibilities: 

Under the direct supervision of the Credit Analyst Supervisor, the intern will provide support for the following projects:

• Image project data-entry for indexing Image project.
• QC Annual Review prep.
• Spreading and Renewal RCA set up.
• Projects and special tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

 Skills and Capabilities:

• Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Ability to work in a group setting and/or independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical capabilities (familiarity with data, data integrity, and report creation).
• Ability to organize data in Excel and analyze for key findings.
• Ability to multi-task (projects and work assignments).

 Anticipated Outcomes:

• To provide work experience that will integrate the knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skill development learned in a professional setting.  
• Skill-set development to include business process; exposure to regulatory framework specific to financial institutions along with reciprocated risk tolerance, strategy and macro and micro file management.

 Schedule:

• The internship program will run from May/June 2024 through August/September 2024 (flexible depending on school schedule or other job obligations). 
• 20-30 hours per week 
• In-person office work in Goleta, CA is required
