Description : SEAT TRACK GROUP LEADER- DAYS

Position Summary :

Coordinates his / her assigned area operations while providing motivation and direction to team leaders and team members that focus on safety, quality, efficiency and cost reduction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Technical :

1. Leads a manufacturing system emphasizing teamwork, safety, training and discipline.

2. Work with his / her Assistant Manager / Manager (and Quality Department where appropriate) to develop standardized work procedures by designing and / or documenting the best work sequence for each process.

3. Utilize TPS techniques to standardize process / methods, identify waste, methodically eliminate waste and standardize the new process / methods.

4. Directs floor activities through consistent application of TBBP to assure all aspects of manufacturing are effective and correct sub-standards.

5. Coordinate safety, quality, productivity and cost improvement projects.

6. Responsible for maintaining training matrix for team leaders and / or team members, assuring training is effective and correcting sub standard performance.

7. Understand and execute all TBIN policies and procedures consistently.

8. Must coordinate hiring and placement of team members with his / her Assistant Manager.

9. Be proactive in predicting abnormalities and finding innovative solutions to correct.

10. Use key performance indicators as a method of continuous improvement.

11. Daily production performance tracking

12. Other duties as assigned

Interpersonal :

1. Coordinates communications between shifts.

2. Delegates appropriate authority and responsibilities to the Team Leaders.

3. Develops employee relations centered on trust and teamwork.

4. Demonstrates a personality that works in cooperation with other departments towards building a sense of company teamwork.

5. Shows positive supervisory skills by actively nurturing staff and leading by example.

6. Focuses on continually improving interpersonal skills as outlined during performance review.

7. Attends all required training as outlined on TBIN training matrix.

Qualifications :

1. Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word and Outlook.

2. Ability to communicate and work well with others in a group environment.

3. Strong organization and planning skills required.

4. Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Education and / or Experience :

Associate degree in Business or related field; or equivalent 3 plus years experience in a production / manufacturing environment.

Language Skills :

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including strong leadership ability are required.

Mathematical Skills :

Basic math skills are required.

Physical Demands :

The employee needs to be capable of working on their feet for long periods of time and occasionally will be required to lift up to 30 pounds.

The ability to travel by automobile and airplane are both required.

Work Environment :

This position is a typical manufacturing environment with a high noise level that may require ear protection.

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
