Wieland is hiring a Project Manager. The Project Manager will be responsible for implementing, facilitating, industrializing and driving the new Electronic Cooling (EC) product line at Wieland Copper Products based in Pine Hall, NC.

Electronic Cooling (EC) includes products such as 2-Phase Liquid cooling electronic components, Cold Plates and data center Immersion Cooling Systems. The project consists of:

Phase 1: In collaboration with the VP of Wieland Copper Products (DV), the EC Project Manager will lead the Microcool integration into the Thermal Solutions Business Unit. In addition, he/she will lead the industrialization of the Small Batch and ITAR Cold Plates Production in 2024.

Microcool is an existing Entity which over the last 15 years operated from Alabama producing Fin Plates and Cold Plates for Electronic Cooling applications. This Entity will be moved to Pine Hall (NC).

Phase 2: The EC PM will collaborate with Wieland Provides in Latina (ITA) and Wieland Werke AG at Ulm (DE) to develop the Mass Production Line of datacenters cold plates later in 2025.

Phase 3: implementation of 2-Phase Immersion Cooling tank for Data Center Heat Dissipation System

Project Manager Responsibilities:

Coordinate the integration of the Microcool Business into the WCP organization in close collaboration with the VP TS-NA (DV) and EC Product Manager NA (AP).
• Lead, plan, oversee, and drive the industrialization of Fin Plates, Cold Plates, and Immersion cooling at Pine Hall in collaboration with the WCP Plant Manager and Provides GM.
• Coordinate and lead technological vendor relationships and contracts.
• Collaborate with the EC Product Management team to support business development in NA concerning Equipment and Manufacturing.
• Support and coordinate upcoming and future acquired company integrations under the WTC parent company.
• Coordinate with local Entity leaders and Plant Managers all activities necessary for a smooth implementation of new Production/Prototype lines.
• Collaborate with site engineering and maintenance teams to facilitate building layout preparations.
• Available to travel across Asia, Europe, and the US.

Project Manager Competencies & Qualifications:

• ITAR & Defense Program Management Background
• BS in Material Science or Engineering and/or equivalent 10 years of experience in the field;
• Knowledge in Heat Transfer application;
• Experience with industrialization of manufacturing facilities
• Experience with Project Management
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, if required by the job;
• Globally available (availability / willingness to go to China)
• Fundamental understanding of heat transfer and electronic technologies
• Strong execution skills
• Self-Starter, reliable, trustworthy person
• Ability to work under pressure and high stress levels required;
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Advanced English language skills, both spoken and written.
• Superior computer and data entry skills.
• Proficiency in SAP, Factory Suite, MS Office and any QA/IMS software is required.
• Experience with CNC, welding, Electronics is a plus.
• Tool- and Process expert skills is a plus.

The EC Project Manager will not have direct reports. However, we are seeking an individual with charismatic leadership skills, capable of motivating, guiding, and influencing the project team to complete actions and tasks effectively, even without direct authority. They must also effectively communicate in a manner that empowers success, enabling others to act as role models. Additionally, the ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking skills to effectively manage the organization's resources.
