Groupware Specialist oversees the development and deployment of the organization's groupware initiative. Defines business requirements and selects collaborative software to meet these requirements. Being a Groupware Specialist implements hardware or software, troubleshoots, and may train end-users. Typically oversees internet access, document sharing, email or other messaging systems. Additionally, Groupware Specialist coordinates with end-users to define needs or areas for improvement. Ensures that all updates or upgrades are appropriately integrated into existing networks. Provides technical support, troubleshooting and training on groupware systems and makes suggestions regarding future groupware needs. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Groupware Specialist typically requires 7+ years of related experience. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. Distinguishing Factors:
Positions in this classification are distinguished from other classifications by the concentration on specialized professional functions for the court or specialized case processing functions, such as probate registrar or water clerk functions. Specialists spend 50% or more time on a specialized function such as those mentioned above. May require occasional travel. A district may utilize up to 5% of the total non-Judicial Officer staff allocation in the district for Specialist positions, rounded to the nearest full FTE, excluding the appellate courts.
Although the full salary range for this position is listed, new hires are typically brought in at or near the minimum of the salary range.

Supervisor Responsibilities:
Responsible for one's own work product and may provide leadership, guidance, assistance, or mentorship to coworkers, volunteers, or interns. May include formal supervision of up to three subordinates, or lead responsibilities including scheduling of work, instructing in work methods, and reviewing work products for a work group.
Minimum Education:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and three years of office, legal, or court experience.
OR
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in business, public or court administration or related field from a four-year college or university and one year of office, legal, or court experience.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk. The employee frequently is required to stand; sit; reach with hands and arms; and perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high precarious places. Occasionally handles emergency or crisis situations; frequently subject to interruptions, and multiple calls and inquiries. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
