Position Summary:
The Guest Services Team Member will assist members and the general public in a consistently courteous, friendly and professional manner ensuring a positive customer experience while generating revenue for the museums and professionally representing the National Comedy Center and the Lucy Desi Museum.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
· Sell general admission with add-ons for membership, donations, and other marketing opportunities while operating computerized ticketing and database admissions systems.
· Responsible for strict adherence to charging appropriate admission prices, verifying valid IDs for free and discounted types of admission, and collecting all complimentary passes and coupons.
· Maintain accurate cash drawer. Properly handle funds collected at admissions desk and information desk. Operate registers, scanners, and credit card/debit card terminals; perform basic math functions to collect payments and make change.
· Actively promote, sell, and process new memberships and membership renewals. Work with ticketing system to provide members with account information.
· Assist customers with retail sales. Memorize product locations throughout the store and be able to direct customers or make suggestions. Keep the check-out area clean and orderly.
· Provide information to visitors regarding museum policies, exhibits, collections, special events, and programs. Provide directional information. Direct visitors to appropriate personnel when further assistance is needed.
· Provide assistance as needed, for special events and programs outside normal operating hours.
· Answer phones and direct customer inquiries to appropriate parties.
· Assist with preparation of museum opening by conducting daily walk-through of exhibits and other public spaces, filling brochures as needed, checking signage, etc.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
· High school or equivalent (Preferred)
· Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of standing and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
· Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
