HR Data Analyst supports the design, deployment, and administration of operational processes used to deliver HR programs and projects. Collaborates with stakeholders to provide consultation, process design, and project management of HR program implementations and initiatives like compensation, benefits, performance management, or training. Being an HR Data Analyst implements scalable methodologies and tools to optimize HR operations and streamline core processes like onboarding, hiring, terminations, retirements, timekeeping, and others that make up the employment life-cycle. Performs employee data management and analysis processes to ensure that data is secure and maintained consistent with company policies and privacy regulations. Additionally, HR Data Analyst prepares and delivers required reporting and filings. May be responsible for the coordination of HR process outsourcing vendors and contracts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The HR Data Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Position Title
    Data Analyst

    Job Description
    This position provides support to the Office of University Advancement and Alumni Engagement by providing management of the department’s donor database, all data retrieval activities, database training, and data conversion tasks. The Associate Director also ensures appropriate database updates are maintained to ensure proper database security, alumni and donor records management, and data hygiene.

    Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
    • Manage database to ensure accurate data is current and available for mailing lists, donor recognition events, and fundraising activities of UAAE.
    • Perform complex and detailed data extraction for various unit and institutional needs related to fundraising metrics.
    • Provide maintenance and management of data and gift processing software and act as liaison with IT to coordinate computer needs and requirements.
    • Maintain database software to appropriately address and update validation tables, security, process and system job management.
    • Serves as data conversion specialist for all advancement data needs, in coordination with other units across the university, including building Omatic imports, managing regular transfers of data between iModules/Anthology, Colleague, and other university databases with Raiser’s Edge.
    • Provides backup to Director of Advancement Services in gift processing procedures, implementation, and execution.
    • Onboards new staff in use of Raiser’s Edge software and provides overview of policies and procedures related to its use; serves as resource to staff to be able to utilize program functionality for division-wide uses and serves as subject matter expert to colleagues;
    • Identifies training needs throughout the UAAE division related to Raiser’s Edge through regular staff surveys and meetings with various staff/leadership; Assigns training to UAAE staff as needed to ensure that Raiser’s Edge is used to full benefit of the division; tracks all training completed by UAAE staff;
    • Build event and registration forms in Online Express
    • Backup for gift and/or data processing as needed
    • Other duties as assigned




    Knowledge/Skill/Ability
    • Advanced proficiency with donor management systems and reporting (Raiser’s Edge preferred) and an advanced skill level in Excel
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality standards of the department/university
    • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of management of fund raising software and relationship database issues.
    • High degree of initiative and motivation with organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines..

    Required Qualifications
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Three to five years relevant experience in higher education development office setting
    • Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge NXT system
    • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining procedural systems including knowledge of relational database preferred.

    • Speaking: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

    • Manual Dexterity: Ability to use hands and fingers to operate office equipment, handle files, and perform other tasks.
