Position Status: Regular, Full-Time

Location: Belmont Senior Center, Butte, MT

Job Summary:

Independently and under direction from the Board of Directors, lead, guide, plan and direct the organization’s services and programs for the elderly. Ensure financial stability and budgetary development oversight, promoting an organizational culture that establishes and maintains strong relationships among staff, program participants, and the community.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in human services related field may be substituted with relevant experience.
• At least 10 years of related work experience, no less than 5 years in a management role.
• Experience managing food service establishment is helpful. Familiarity with local food service and sanitation standards is required, but displaying ability to quickly learn such standards may be acceptable for an otherwise qualified candidate.
• Possesses strong managerial and organizational skills that support a culture-growing mindset.
• Demonstrated passion for working with the elderly with experience helping senior citizens navigate through a variety of situations, with the ability to de-escalate and calmly react to crisis situations.
• Must possess organizational and leadership skills necessary for overseeing daily operations of the center.
• Experience in grant writing and community fundraising is necessary.
• Experience in developing and maintaining a budget and working with accounting department.

Specific Duties:

The Executive Director must be able to competently execute responsibilities as follows, along with related functions that arise while managing the organization:

• Acts as the representative of the Belmont Center and Butte-Silver Bow Council on Aging in all matters affecting the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the organization.
• Works with Council on Aging to satisfy requirements of contract.
• Report to and communicate with board at meetings and at other times to assure adequate lines of communication.
• Schedules board meetings and drafts agendas, report to the board, and manages reporting of meetings as required by local government authorities and the Council on Aging.
• Regularly makes routine operational decisions as necessary for the day-to-day operation of the organization, while exercising proper discretion to bring major decisions to the board, especially when involving matters such as large purchases, staffing changes, and responding to elevated concerns.
• Responsible for supervision of all staff and volunteers and developing and promoting culture of respect, service, and passion.
• Work with accountant manager to develop, maintain, and report on budgets.
• Work with kitchen staff to develop menus in matters that promote quality and creativity; but also promotes sustainability and limits waste.
• Manages fleet and deliveries while maintaining food service standards when managing the Meals on Wheels program.
• Write and implement grants for improvement of center and development of new programs.
• Develop new programs to increase participation and in the organization by the senior citizens of our community.
• Implement and maintain all policies and procedures, keeping a working policy book available.
• Keep updated on all food service rules and guidelines.
• Assure center is operated within guidelines of Non Profit Status 501 C.
• Assist or fill in for any position as needed.

The new Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors during the first 90 days of employment and will have an employment review at that point. At that time, the board will determine the next review dates, and will have an annual review after one year of employment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
