Inspire of McClelland provides comfort of home to independent elders, with leisurely access to delicious & nutritious meals, wellness & social activities, assistance with tasks of daily living, and medication assistance seeks an Activities Director for immediate hire. We are looking for a positive, dependable, caring individual to join our team to meet the growing demand in our community for quality care.

The Activities Director position requires the following:

o Ability to communicate in a dignified, respectful manner.

o Relates well to residents, visitors and other staff members

o Emotional and physical stamina to be of service to the residents in their daily living skills

o Interest and participation in opportunities for personal academic growth

o Ability to practice self-control in speech, listening, body and facial mannerisms

o Technologically inclined and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

o Possess physical endurance for frequent activity.

Responsibilities:

• Create and lead a stimulating and robust program that promotes physical and social enrichment to our residents.
• Act as a liaison between Residents and the community to afford residents the opportunity to be active in the community; assist residents with shopping activities and recreational trips.
• Assist and participate in the activities program and special events.
• Encourage residents to partake in the daily activities program and record participation.
• Assist in maintaining a continuous communication and contact with residents, their families and friends.
• Help, organize, and support the Resident Council.
• Maintain records of resident facility-maintained accounts and allow resident access to deposit and withdraw funds.
• Decorate the Home during special occasions with the help of the Residents.
• Assist providers in gathering residents for facilty doctor visits.
• Prepare quarterly activity reports for posting; prepare minutes from Council Meetings.
• Keep all information accurate and current across all social media platforms.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Associates Degree with related coursework OR Two years of full-time experience in the recreation field with a dependent, adult population.
• Prefer previous experience, either professional, personal or volunteer, with the elderly population.

Compensation:

$15/Hour PTO
