    SUMMARY:  Responsible for completing tasks in the following functional areas: payroll, benefits administration, training, and policy implementation. This position will sustain the Mission and Motto and Food Safety and Quality Statement of the Mennel Milling Company. 

     

    PRIMARY WORK SHIFT: Monday through Friday 8AM – 5PM.   Will vary, depending on workload.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without accommodation. 

     

    • Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP’s, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions. Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.

     

    Payroll and benefits support:

    • Completes payroll processing and benefit related tasks; facilitates and communicates resolutions to payroll errors and or benefit related issues within skill set and knowledge base.
    • Imports electronic time clock information and reviews the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.
    • Contact various department supervisors for any missed times.
    • Process weekly transfer of payroll data to payroll vendor.
    • Compiles reports as needed for HR, compliance and leadership.

     

    HRIS Support:

    • Oversees and maintains optimal function of the HRIS, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules.
    • Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users.
    • Collaborates with executive leadership and HR staff to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommends and implements solutions.
    • Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HRIS users.
    • Compiles or assists with the acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and logs for executives and HR staff.
    • Serves as lead representative and liaison between HR, information services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HRIS design and implementation projects.

     

    Other administrative support:

    • Maintains employee files as outlined within the record retention policy, including but not limited to; personnel, workers compensation, and medical files. Manages human resources section of the company intranet and ADP, updating forms, training and other related documents as necessary.
    • Assist with compiling HR related data and information to complete required reports; prepares spreadsheets.
    • Processes incoming phone calls and distributes mail.
    • Assist with HR related mailings including but limited to, MIP letters, wellness communication, new hire information, etc. Seeks assistance from the members of the Human Resources team when necessary.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:   

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job. 

     

    • An Associate’s Degree or equivalent required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
    • A minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience required.
    • Knowledge processing payroll, experience in healthcare benefits administration preferred
    • Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Power Point.
    • Must have exceptional time management skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times, and understand the intimacy needed for maintaining personnel files and other documents. 
    • Well spoken, articulate and courteous verbal, written and phone correspondence.
    • Must have professional presence and strong interpersonal skills.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans. Ability to write reports, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence.  Ability to effectively and professionally present information or data in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and managers.  

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Must have ability to read and comprehend basic financial statements and other business- related documents. 

     

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Must use common sense and solid judgment when making decisions. Must have ability to quickly recognize and plan for rapidly moving and changing work schedules and event calendars.
