HRIS Manager manages and oversees an organization's Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Develops, implements, and modifies software and hardware requirements based on changing business requirements. Being a HRIS Manager maintains internal database files and tables, and develops custom reports to meet the requirements of company management and staff. Provides the necessary training to meet end users needs. Additionally, HRIS Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to Director. The HRIS Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     About the team and position

    We're looking for an experienced and collaborative HRIS/People Systems Manager to join our dynamic Total Rewards team. This role leads a small team and reports to the Associate Director, Total Rewards and People Systems. Our ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience of HCM systems, including partnering with stakeholders to develop a comprehensive understanding of business process requirements, leveraging best practices to design, configure, and test solutions, partnering with IT on integrations, running end-user training sessions, and providing business support. We're looking for a critical thinker who is naturally curious and intrinsically motivated to continuously improve the system. The ability to develop and foster strong relationships with stakeholders across the business is a primary component of this role.


    What you'll be doing

    • Lead the People Systems team and take ownership for overall management, strategic roadmap development and execution, communication, compliance, configuration, and administration of our People Systems (Workday, Greenhouse, GLINT, Tenstreet, AbsenceSoft)
    • Prioritize and ensure security of data through actively maintaining a security matrix, regular audits, and effectively balancing security with enabling the business to move quickly.
    • Lead, coach, motivate, develop, and inspire a team of growing analysts.
    • Establish a results-oriented team structure with strong project management, effective delegation of tasks, and focus on continued skill development.
    • Serve as the Workday technical expert and effectively leverage our Workday support resources to drive strategy forward.
    • Demonstrate a deep understanding of HCM configuration and suggest ways to optimize Carvana's people data within Workday. Identify key areas where data quality can be improved.
    • Ensure Carvana is fully leveraging Workday to meet strategic business and talent needs and pursue continuous improvement in business processes, integration, automation, and user experience.
    • Gather business requirements from stakeholders and translate those into simple and organized processes defined within Workday
    • Coordinate with other internal teams to ensure that configurations and integrations are efficient, compliant, and accurate.
    • Act as the official liaison between the IT and HRIS team, keeping them abreast of priorities and upcoming events and leveraging their support effectively.
    • Oversee Workday releases and perform regular maintenance to ensure the system remains up-to-date and aligned with best practices.
    • Identify, establish, and track key metrics to monitor team effectiveness and Workday-utilization, identifying trends, root causes, and solutions to drive efficiency and scalability
    • Administer user access rights and permissions to maintain data confidentiality and uphold our organization's policies.
    • Other duties as assigned

    What you should know/have

    • Minimum of 7 years of experience working with and managing HCM solutions
    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, IT, Business Management, or related field
    • Experience with Workday HCM solutions strongly preferred, but not required
    • Advanced MS Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint/Google Slides, and Word/Google Doc skills
    • Excellent coaching, development, leadership and management skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Skilled collaborator, managing partnerships with vendors, internal stakeholders and outside consultants to achieve results.
    • Strong aptitude to connect with business processes and quickly learn business operations in order to support and interact with business users
    • Advanced knowledge and expertise in the areas of project planning, management, execution and monitoring of project risks
    • Highly organized and detailed oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization
    • Able to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality
    • Must be able to prioritize, problem solve, work under pressure, and drive results in a deadline driven, rapidly changing organization
