HRIS Manager manages and oversees an organization's Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Develops, implements, and modifies software and hardware requirements based on changing business requirements. Being a HRIS Manager maintains internal database files and tables, and develops custom reports to meet the requirements of company management and staff. Provides the necessary training to meet end users needs. Additionally, HRIS Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to Director. The HRIS Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.       PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The primary focus of this position is the support and maintenance of systems, software and reports that support all benefits for RPS 205. This individual serves as a technical point-of-contact for assigned functional areas for the benefits team. The Benefits HRIS Coordinator primary responsibility will be to ensure the data integrity accuracy within Rockford Public Schools

      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
      • Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board’s strategic plan.
      • Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
      • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
      • Serves as principal point of contact for benefits for new and renewed lines of coverages implementation process, acting as a liaison between benefits, carriers, third parties, and insurance consultants.
      • Coordinates and maintain various Benefits EDI files processes; creates or adjusts files as required.
      • Partners with benefits staff to address data requests and questions related to software, programs, or reports.
      • Analyzes, interprets, and comprehends employer benefits plan requirements.
      • Builds and configures customized benefit plans used in coordination with other services sold and other departments as necessary
      • Partners with other Benefits Specialists to confirm accuracy and integrity of all data entered, maintains data in various benefits systems and databases and assures information is available on a timely basis.
      • Conducts data analysis on HR data pertaining to data files and reports in our HRIS system
      • Works with the Director of Benefits to provide project management for benefit projects or initiatives
      • Maintains awareness of current trends in Benefits with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies.
      • Participates in department and other required district meetings.

      QUALIFICATIONS:
      • Bachelor's degree in computer science or business preferred. Associate degree, or technical school required; 2-5 years of related experience.
      • PHR/SPHR certification preferred
      • Experience working in a K-12 setting with PowerSchool systems preferred

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

      • Must be able to understand Electronic Data Integration files
      • Strong organization skills
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Advanced Excel skills required
      • Proficient in Microsoft suite, and Google Suite
      • Proficient understanding of EDI/Carrier connections, Cobra, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), 457/403(b), Employer sponsored/voluntary health plans, and Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting.
      • Experience with SaaS HCM

      WORK CALENDAR: 12 Months

      WORKING CONDITIONS: Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
