JOB SUMMARY
An HRIS specialist is an expert in human resources management systems. They collect data and analyze it to improve HR strategies and processes, and suggest ways to increase the functional productivity and workflow of the HR department. An HRIS Specialist leads to automate, integrate, and configure core HR processes. Reporting to the Director of HR, they play a key leadership role in defining how HRIS can be optimized to provide an amazing employee experience that supports a company/organization to become a high-impact HR organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Leading the continuous evaluation and evolution of WRC HR Systems.
- Managing of HRIS users to help define and drive the overall HRIS roadmap.
- Coordinating with the user community to identify areas of improvement, recommend changes, and implement functional solutions for existing systems.
- Managing requests for process improvements, system enhancements, and developments.
- Mentoring, educating, guiding and coaching the WRC workforce to develop expertise and drive process and configuration excellence.
- Synthesizing and documenting requirements for process improvement, enhancements, new software, and strategic initiatives.
- Acting as the lead for in-progress HRIS system implementation, including continued testing and configuration, security administration, report writing, system optimization, and coordination and management of cross-functional dependencies between HR, Benefits, and Payroll.
- Supporting all HRIS systems (needs analysis, research, design, testing, quality control, deployment, training, and administration) and human resources end users in the use of HRIS applications and desktop tools (recruitment, personnel performance evaluation, and document management systems and software).
- Effectively working with the workforce to prioritize and establish a strong partnership to ensure clear governance in how value is delivered to the end users with the goal of providing an amazing employee experience.
- Working with the Director to translate business needs into projects, including prioritization, scheduling, and resource planning and keeping the Director informed of any unusual HRIS needs, issues, or concepts.
- Ensure a regular audit cadence to ensure the quality of HR processes and data quality and integrity.
- Actively identify and resolve issues or opportunities to enhance user experience. Work and train all tiers at WRC.
- Developing, documenting, and maintaining all current and new HRIS process workflows for efficiency and compliance.
- Translating functional requirements into work breakdown structures and technical specifications via information gathering, workshops, sessions and interviews.
- Maintaining and administering report writing tools for end users; training and assisting users of those report writing tools.
- Assist in the preparation of payroll action forms/documents for management.
- Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with WRC staff.
- Promote confidentiality of personnel files, records, and HR actions at all times.
- Comply with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc.
- Promotes a clean, safe, and healthy work environment for employees and guests. Promptly reports concerns to the director.
- Ensure that operation of equipment, tools and materials are handled in a safe manner.
- Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three (3) years of HR work experience and able to demonstrate a general knowledge of employment laws and practices. Generalist or higher level preferred.
- Three (3) years of experience working with HRIS systems. UKG experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Demonstrate proficiency with managing a relational database system, including data administration, modifying tables, fields, and forms. Demonstrate computer skills that show independent use/ability with Word, spreadsheets, databases, internet, PowerPoint, and other software.
- Detail and process-oriented, able to partner with non-technical internal customers and partners to understand user needs and translate needs into technical requirements.
- Strong communication and team building skills to effectively lead use of HRIS system. Ability to confidently express self in written, verbal, and interpersonal situations while working with all levels of employees and varying levels of knowledge.
- Skilled in demonstrating innovation and creativity by continually improving internal processes.
- Strong problem-solving/analytical skills with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong report writing skills - able to generate/build informational reports and queries from the HRIS. Knowledge of SQL.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively plan and execute goals. Must be able to multi-task, prioritize assignments and think on your feet to problem-solve solutions.
- Physically able to: sit for long periods at a computer station using the repetitive motion of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; perform routine office duties including bending, lifting, maneuvering up to 25 lbs., good auditory acuity to converse directly, in a group and over the phone; good voice tone to relay information; and able to walk through adverse conditions (smoke/noise in the casino) and weather between building locations.
- Demonstrate a dependable work history in progressively more responsible positions.
- Exhibit a professional manner and appearance standards.
- Requires a High-Security Gaming License clearance.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- THRP (Tribal Human Resources Professional) certification.
- Bachelors degree in HR or MIS (Information systems) or related discipline.
- Experience with HRIS implementations.
