HVAC Mechanic jobs in Ogden, UT
HVAC Mechanic performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines. Being an HVAC Mechanic follows blueprints or engineering specifications to install units. Performs troubleshooting to identify the cause of problems. Additionally, HVAC Mechanic maintains and secures a spare parts inventory. Recommends purchasing maintenance equipment and supplies as required to improve processes and efficiencies. Typically requires an apprenticeship and/or completion of technical training. Requires a high school diploma. The regulations governing the location may require an HVAC Mechanical State License and EPA Section 608 Certification (CFC). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The HVAC Mechanic works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Representative duties include :
- Serving as a member of the Installation Department teams which are organized to conduct HVAC installation jobs in an efficient and timely manner.
- Performing HVAC installation activities without direct oversight or on-site assistance.
- Performing related duties as directed by the Installation Manager.
Job Qualifications :
- High school graduate and graduate of a post-secondary HVAC program of instruction of two or more years in duration.
- Good oral and reading skills, including the ability to read and apply manufacturers' installation instructions and clearly communicate with residential, commercial, and industrial customers, suppliers, and other Rentmeister employees.
- Physical ability to perform all duties noted above under the conditions, circumstances, and extreme weather conditions existent in (state).
- Interest and initiative in maintaining his / her HVAC skills through a combination of self-study, company training, manufacturers' workshops, and other professional development activities.
- Current Drivers license
- Must have a good driving record
- Ability to work efficiently given time pressures, non-standard schedule, and overtime as needed
- Complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

This is a full time position, day shift, Monday through Friday with occasional overtime
Compensation depends on skills and experience
