HVAC Supervisor supervises and coordinates the operations, maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Oversees the installation of new units and replacement parts and ensures work is completed according to company, product, or engineering specifications and established safety guidelines. Being an HVAC Supervisor conducts quality testing and inspections. May authorize equipment, supplies, parts, or repairs purchases. Additionally, HVAC Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Requires an HVAC Mechanical State License and EPA Section 608 Certification (CFC). Typically reports to a manager. The HVAC Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an HVAC Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. What you will do
This is a mechanical HVAC service and repair position.
We will equip you with the required tools to perform your job at the highest standard.
How you will do it
Probationary Employees shall perform mechanical equipment service and all other work coming under the labor agreement assigned by the Employer, limited only by their capabilities as determined by the Employer, and shall perform all assigned work under the direction of the Employer.
Troubleshoot, perform maintenance and resolve equipment issues. Responds to basic calls for service. Keeps JCI, contractors, and the customer informed of job progress and issues as needed.
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent or currently enrolled in an HVAC certificate program.
Familiarity with HVAC equipment (residential or light commercial)
The ability to perform general building maintenance
Self-starter with the ability to work independently
This position requires a current driver's license
Willingness to supplement on-the-job training.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Familiar with HVAC-related applications and use of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc. )
Preferred
EPA Refrigeration certification is a plus
This is a Bargaining Unit Position but is subject to all pre-hiring screening of JCI. With successful performance, JCI may recommend you to the Union Local 486 apprenticeship program, as well as continued employment at JCI.
