Being an HVAC Supervisor conducts quality testing and inspections. May authorize equipment, supplies, parts, or repairs purchases. Additionally, HVAC Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Requires an HVAC Mechanical State License and EPA Section 608 Certification (CFC). Typically reports to a manager. The HVAC Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an HVAC Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Job Summary:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for the operations, repairs, replacement and preventative maintenance of commercial and industrial air conditioning and heating systems, air handlers, fan coil units, controls and other building mechanical and electrical equipment. The individual must be self-motivated and work with little supervision. Good communication skills; verbal and written are imperative. The individual must maintain safe work practices in support of the OSHA Health & Safety and NFPA 70E standards as it applies when performing the assigned duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
Current unlimited journeyman’s license in the state of Oklahoma
Current universal EPA certification
High School Diploma or GED
Strong oral and written communication required.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision in isolated areas.
Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments.
Valid Vehicle Operators license
Ability to stand, sit or squat for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift, move and carry material up to 50 lbs.
Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work at extended heights.
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). i.e. but not limited to, Dust mask, gloves, eye protection and hearing protection.
Working knowledge of desktop computers and Internet based programs to perform required annual training.
Ability to wear a company uniform and maintain a neat personal appearance
Physical Demands:
Must be able to constantly climb stairs and fixed ladders. Work environment will include heights above 15 ft and noise levels above 80 dBA. Must not be sensitive or allergic to chemicals. Must be able to work in a full range of indoor and outdoor conditions during all four seasons. Stand, walk and sit. Use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel. Reach with hands and arms. Work Environment:
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and may work in precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Potentially toxic, acidic or caustic chemicals. Outdoor weather conditions. Short term extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee will work in an environment where the following safety equipment is needed: steel toe shoes, hearing protection, hardhat, eye protection, bump cap, sleeves, and welding jackets. Abide by all safety guidelines including OSHA regulations, lock-out/tag-out, etc. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
