Description
The Farm Hand/Agriculture Worker provides general assistance to the Farm Manager with daily duties and running a farm.
Requirements
Essential Functions and Core Responsibilities:
· Spray fertilizers or pesticides as needed to help encourage growth and prevent weed and insect damage.
· Operate farm equipment and set up GPS.
· Ensure proper irrigation of crops.
· Operate various tools and equipment including lawn mower, weedwhacker, shovel, power tools, hand tools, chainsaw and other related tools and equipment safely.
· Repairing and building fences.
· Other related duties as assigned.
Educational / Experience/Abilities Requirements:
· 2 years of experience in agriculture.
· Demonstrated ability to independently complete tasks.
· Ability to complete physical duties in all weather conditions.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisor responsibilities.
Working Environment/Physical Demands:
This position is physically demanding and operates primarily outdoors in all types of weather. The position frequently bends, stands, sits, walks, crawls, and lifts, drags, carries, moves weights up to 100 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; typical hours are 7 am to 4 pm during the week. There are occasionally longer days and weekends as the season requires.
