Hand Compositor/Typesetters sets type by hand and machine. Assembles type and cuts in galley for printing articles, headings, and other printed matter. Being a Hand Compositor/Typesetters determines type size, style, and compositional pattern from work order. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Hand Compositor/Typesetters may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. We are seeking a reliable Dock Hand to join our team. The Dock Hand will be responsible for assisting with various tasks related to the operation and maintenance of docks and vessels.
Reports to: Dock Master
Supervises: No supervisory duties are included in this position.

Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Perform all duties and services required of Dock personnel in a safe, courteous, efficient and professional manner at all times.
Job Tasks/Duties
· Provides assistance to members and guests in getting underway and mooring their boats in accordance with the rules and etiquette of good seamanship.
· Provides all services available in the normal operation of the Dock according to procedures prescribed by the Dock Master, holding tank pump outs, fueling of boats, sales of merchandise and delivery of food, beverages and other merchandise.
· Maintains the cleanliness of the entire Dock area including:
Ø rubbish pick-up from containers as scheduled by the Dock Master;
Ø daily removal of sea weed and other debris from the Dock water; and
Ø general policing of Dock areas.
· Continually observes boat traffic in the Marina, challenging non-member boats and directing them to leave the Marina.
· Reports any misconduct of members, guests, or crew members taking place in the Dock areas or club grounds.
· Maintains the Waterfront Office in a neat, clean, and orderly condition at all times.
· Operates the ship-to-shore radio equipment in accordance with rules and procedures set forth by the Federal Communications Commission.
· Uses club equipment (e.g., Dock carts, Dock slugs, hand carts, etc.) as needed.
· Attends staff and department meetings.
· Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Dock Master or Facilities Director

Physical Demands and Work Environment
· Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
· Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
· Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
· Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment, which is typical of this position.
· Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.
· Push, pull or lift 50 pounds.
