Overview:
Camp Ewalu is seeking a part-time Ranch Hand to assist with animal chores for our Farm Program during the summer camp season from May 26 to August 9. The Ranch Hand will be responsible for morning and evening chores (1-2 hours in the morning and evening), taking care of our menagerie of farm animals that complement our camp programs. These animals may include chickens, goats, sheep, turkeys, rabbits, kittens, horses, and more. The Ranch Hand will also assist with the camp garden as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Feed and care for animals on the farm.

- Clean up after animals and keep the farm area clean in general.

- Assist with garden work as needed.

- Option to assist with camp programs if desired, such as Thursday evening hoe down (not necessary)

- Assist with heavy lifting and physical labor as needed.

- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

- Basic knowledge of animal care is a plus.

- Flexibility to do both morning and evening chores.

Hours:

-The Ranch Hand will be responsible for morning and evening chores each week of summer camp starting Sunday evening and ending Friday morning. If the Ranch Hand is not able to work during one of those chore times, they must arrange with another summer staff member to cover their duties. The Ranch Hand is not responsible for chores on Friday evening, Saturday morning or evening, or Sunday morning.

Note: This position requires the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Alternative Employment Option:

-The above Job Description is for a part-time, hourly position, but it is an option for the Ranch Hand to live and work on-site if they are at least 18 years old. If candidate is interested, they would be paid a stipend, receive room and board, and serve as Support Staff. Inquire about this possibility during the interview.
