We are seeking a passionate and dedicated School Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to join our educational team near Elizabeth, Colorado.
As a full-time K-12 Itinerant DHH Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing specialized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across various grade levels.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Provide direct instruction in areas such as language development, communication skills, literacy, and academic content.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and assistive technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure seamless integration and implementation of accommodations and modifications.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic growth of students.
- Stay current with best practices, research, and trends in the field of Deaf Education.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field.
- Valid Colorado teaching license with endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education or ability to obtain licensure.
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications for DHH students.
