Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter Helper to join our team. As a Tile Setter Helper, you will be responsible for assisting installing and repairing various types of tile in residential and commercial settings. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work as a team and independently.
Responsibilities:
- Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled, ensuring accuracy and precision
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and removing old tile or adhesive
- Mix and apply mortar or adhesive to secure tiles in place
- Cut, shape, and trim tiles using hand tools or power saws
- Install tile in a variety of patterns, such as straight lines, diagonals, or herringbone
- Grout tiles and clean excess grout from surfaces
- Inspect completed work for quality and make any necessary repairs or adjustments
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as plumbers or electricians, as needed
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Tile Setter Helper or similar role
- Proficient in tile layout techniques
- Strong knowledge of different types of tile materials and their installation requirements
- Skilled in using hand tools, power saws, and other equipment necessary for tile installation
- Attention to detail and ability to work as a team and independently
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues that may arise during installation
- Physical stamina to stand, kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials for extended periods of time
