As we continue to expand our product offerings, we are seeking an accomplished and dynamic Director of Hardware Engineering to lead our innovative team of hardware engineers.
Position Overview: The Director of Hardware Engineering will play a pivotal role in driving the development of cutting-edge hardware solutions for our security screening equipment. This strategic leadership position requires an individual with a strong engineering background, proven experience in leading hardware development teams, and a passion for delivering high-quality, reliable products.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:

Develop and execute the hardware engineering strategy in alignment with the company's overall business objectives.

Provide strategic leadership to the hardware engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, efficiency, and excellence.
Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of hardware engineers (mechanical, electrical, and systems), ensuring the recruitment, development, and retention of top talent.

Foster and promote a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation, creativity and problem-solving.
Product Development:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development, product management, and quality assurance, to ensure the successful integration of hardware components with software solutions.

Drive the development of reliable, scalable, and high-performance hardware solutions for security screening equipment.
Technology Roadmap:

Define and implement the technology roadmap for hardware development, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.

Evaluate and recommend new tools, components, and methodologies to enhance the hardware development process.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Ensure that hardware development processes adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.

It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem

Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Extensive experience (at least 10 years) in hardware engineering, with a focus on leading and managing hardware engineering teams.

Experience with configuration management tools like Agile.

Experience with CAD design tools like SolidWorks or Fusion360

Familiarity with prototyping hardware (e.g., 3D printers, laser cutters, Arduino, Raspberry Pi).

Familiarity with robotics, automation, and lean principles are a plus.

Strong understanding of security protocols, electronics, and hardware-software integration.

Proven track record of delivering complex hardware projects on time and within budget.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance in the security equipment industry.
