PICA Product Development (PPD), an affiliate of PICA Manufacturing Solutions (PMS) has developed an innovative IoT platform(Skyhawk.ai) that combines cellular IoT RF connectivity with local sub-GHz RF connectivity. The platform permits the long-term battery-operated deployment of IoT sensors and gateways using our proprietary technology that reduces average gateway power consumption by a factor of 100X. The technology requires the optimization and integration of various technologies including:
1. Cellular IoT connectivity such a Cat M
2. Low power and low duty cycle electronic hardware designs.
3. Optimized RF designs in cellular and sub-GHz bands.
4. Customized full stack integration of embedded software, backend server and user facing applications.
We are seeking an individual with a demonstrated interest in electronics to join our technical team with the primary responsibility of hardware testing. The position also offers the opportunity to support aspects of our embedded software development efforts under the guidance of our senior staff members.
Primary responsibilities will include the planning, running, and analyzing of experiments to qualify hardware for functionality, reliability, power and RF performance.
Qualifications include:
1. A demonstrated interest in the above subjects through a combination of education and experience.
2. Basic soldering and prototype building.
3. Schematic and print interpretation.
4. Excel and basic computer skills enabling the collection and analysis of experimental data.
5. Candidates with an interest in developing embedded software skills will have a demonstrated experience with C or RTOS programming and/or an appropriate level of post-secondary education.
