Position Overview:
Engineering Manager is a position that requires a committed individual who can receive and process information from a variety of sources, from which decisions critical to the success of the company are made. A wide degree of creativity and latitude for appropriate decision making is expected of the Engineer Manager. The Engineering Manager must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the application, design, and material requirement efforts related to the manufacturing of equipment and delivering accurate and timely fabrication drawings to purchasing and to the shop.
Essential Job Functions:

Provide technical direction and daily supervision as required to assist engineering, design, drafting and materials requirement support staff.

Meet with customers, suppliers, and third-party manufacturers as required to broaden knowledge base on customer experiences, customer preferences, market trends, new materials, design modifications, etc.

Maintain frequent communication, and liaise, with Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Quality departments via meetings and written updates.

Develop and mentor junior engineers and other direct reports to improve both technical capabilities and business acumen.

Prioritize new product development projects per corporate strategies.

Assume role of Project Leader for high profile projects.

Maintain company engineering standards and specifications for all products.

Maintain current knowledge of competitors’ designs.

Develop quarterly and annual performance goals; monitor and quantify results.

Evaluate employee performance and make recommendations to hire, promote, discipline, and terminate.

Lead efforts to update designs to be more economically engineered for materials as well as fabrication without compromising quality or customer experience.

Ensure all equipment and designs are within code guidelines, checked for quality and accuracy, and utilize approved methods of calculation.

Ensure product designs comply with best industry practices.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Engineering Department supporting a complex and dynamic Manufacturing Environment

Minimum 3 years managerial/supervisory experience

Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
MBA or Master's Degree
-
7 years’ experience in Engineering Management.
-
Experience in the midstream or upstream segment of the oil and gas industry preferred.

Understanding of the selection and application Vapor Combustion Technologies in midstream and downstream applications

Understanding and knowledge of applicable industry codes
-
Functional understanding of piping codes and pressure vessel codes (ASME B31.3 & B31.8, and ASME Section VIII, etc.), piping and pressure vessel sizing criteria as related to this industry and industrial combustion processes and technologies.
