Hardware Engineering Manager plans and directs all aspects of hardware engineering activities within an organization. Ensures all hardware engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established polices and objectives. Being a Hardware Engineering Manager reviews and approves testing and QA procedures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Hardware Engineering Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Hardware Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Hardware Manager

    Responsibilities:

    • Staff management.
    • To ensure continuity, growth and profitability of the store through the management of costs and the maximization of sales turnover and returns.
    • Procurement, Stock Control and Merchandising products are purchased in line with the Company procurement policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that customer complaints are dealt with in an effective manner and resolved.
    • ​​​​​​ Ensure all Customer are being helped.
    • Inspects delivery trucks. 
    • Ensures inventory and invoicing is accurate. 
    • Ensures inventory is shelved and placed in the appropriate places as quickly as possible. 
    • Ensures staffing needs are met. 
    • Conducts interviews of applicants.
    • Ensures employees are providing quality customer service to internal and external customers. 
    • Responsible for ensuring closing procedures are executed. 
    • Ensures building entryways and dumpster areas are secure. 
    • Ensures materials and supplies are put away. 
    • Manages cash closing procedures. 
    • Responsible for training of new hires on forklifts.
    • Oversees night stocking crew. 
    • Confirms stocks is accurately dispersed. 
    • Ensures back marking is addressed. 
    • Ensures proper compliance with safety regulations. 
    • Oversees employee’s performance. 
    • Executes disciplinary action and merits as necessary. 
    • Manages issues arising from overwrites. 
    • Fills in areas where necessary. 
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Able to work weekends and 55-hour work week; closed on Sundays.
    • Previous retail hardware experience.
    • Knowledge of hardware products is required. 
    • Knowledge of lumber products is preferred. 
    • 3 years’ experience in a junior-mid level management position.
    • 5-10 years retail experience.
    • Knowledge of merchandising principles and OSHA.
