Job Posting Title: Athletic Trainer Position Type: Professional / Unclassified Department: LSUE Chancellor - Department of Athletics (John J Willis (00011318)) Work Location: 0105O Classroom Community Education Building Pay Grade: Professional Job Description: Provide LSUE with the following services at specified practices, games, events, and tournaments: Prevention, evaluation, and treatment of injuries incurred by student athletes, participating in specified school sponsored athletic programs. Accurate and up to date medical record keeping regarding injuries and correspondence with appropriate physicians. 15% Injury prevention through the use of proper technique instructions, of devices such as tape and braces, event venue EAP's and policies & procedures to ensure athlete safety. 20% On site care and management of injuries and illnesses including evaluation, treatment, and if necessary, referral to the proper health care professional. 20% Coordinate and implement injury prevention and rehabilitation programs that are customized to each patient. 5% Develop a manual for athletic training room, procedures, injury reporting, medical records, mid physician referral tracking. 5% Develop and implement an injury recording and medical record keeping procedure. 5% Coordinate and implement baseline concussion testing for all student athletes. 20% Provide athletic training services to team practices with teams in season taking priority, home competitions for sports in season taking priority, championship and tournament events hosted by school, and injury assessment and/or treatment when necessary. 10% establish and maintain an open line of communication between the athletic trainer and coaching staff, athletic trainer and physician, and athletic trainer and student athletes. Create a trusting environment and safe location for student athletes to receive medical, mental, and physical assessment and evaluation. Salary: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 Minimum Qualifications: Masters Degree Athletic Training Experience Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science in Athletic Training.
