Head Cataloging Librarian develops cataloging policies and procedures and implements improvement. Manages staff and student assistants in all formats cataloging following updated workflows. Being a Head Cataloging Librarian creates metadata schema to ensure efficient workflow for metadata projects. Typically requires a master's degree. Additionally, Head Cataloging Librarian typically reports to top management. The Head Cataloging Librarian manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Cataloging Librarian typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. •_ Under supervision of the Library Administrator, provide administrative support related to tasks associated with the agency's backfile project._
•_ Working knowledge of Outlook to email staff with questions/clarification and save documents. _
•_ Purges records in accordance with applicable document retention schedules. _
•_ Ability to merge, insert pages using adobe._
•_ Prep and scan individual documents using a high-speed scanner._
•_ Sweep document into Unity Client._
•_ Identify indexing information (metadata). _
•_ QA ingested document._
