Assists players in reaching highest athletic potential possible through athletic training and leadership skills. Additionally, Head Coach (Major Sport) must be familiar with NCAA rules and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in the related area. Typically reports to a institutional officer. Head Coach (Major Sport) is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group.     Alma School District is seeking an assistant football coach certified to teach 7-12 Education. The head junior high football coach works directly with the guidelines provided by the Arkansas Activities Association. This position is a 210 day contract to begin in July.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET

    • Holds or is able to secure Arkansas teacher license in 7-12 education
    • Valid Arkansas Coaching certification or endorsement
    • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth
    • CDL encouraged, but not required
    • Appropriate classroom management skills
    • Assist Head Football Coach with day to day operations of football program
    • Assist with Special Teams responsibilities
    • Assist Head Spring Sports Coach with day to day operations of a spring sport
    • Will help develop and assist with the off season program
    • Demonstrate an active interest in the academic progress of student athletes in an attempt to prevent academic eligibility problems
    • Other duties as assigned
