Head Coach (Major Sport) oversees all activities of a major athletic team. Plans and directs training of student athletes, and assesses individuals' abilities and skill level to determine appropriate team position. Being a Head Coach (Major Sport) analyzing opposition team performance and capabilities and determines game strategy. Assists players in reaching highest athletic potential possible through athletic training and leadership skills. Additionally, Head Coach (Major Sport) must be familiar with NCAA rules and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in the related area. Typically reports to a institutional officer. Head Coach (Major Sport) is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group.
