Head Coach (Major Sport) oversees all activities of a major athletic team. Plans and directs training of student athletes, and assesses individuals' abilities and skill level to determine appropriate team position. Being a Head Coach (Major Sport) analyzing opposition team performance and capabilities and determines game strategy. Assists players in reaching highest athletic potential possible through athletic training and leadership skills. Additionally, Head Coach (Major Sport) must be familiar with NCAA rules and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in the related area. Typically reports to a institutional officer. Head Coach (Major Sport) is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group.       Required:
      • If you have a current teaching license OR If you are a retired teacher OR If you are applying to coach at the High School Level:
        • Current Resume
        • CHSAA Online Coaches Test (Current Year)
        • NFHS Concussion Certificate (or an in-person concussion course completion certificate)
        • 1st Aid/CPR/AED Certification (Current)
      • If you do not have a current teaching license:
        • Current Resume
        • CHSAA Online Coaches Test (Current Year)
        • NFHS Concussion Certificate (or an in-person concussion course completion certificate)
        • 1st Aid/CPR/AED Certification (Current)
      *PLEASE NOTE - For non-teaching applicants, upon acceptance of any high school coaching vacancy in Pueblo City Schools, you will be required to register for a CHSAA one-year coaching registration and/or permanent coaching registration. You will not be allowed to coach until registration requirements have been completed and verified.

      Preferred:
      Previous coaching experience and/or successful participation in athletics at the high school or collegiate level

      Desirable:
      Previous playing experience in the sport of Wrestling.
