Head Coach (Major Sport) oversees all activities of a major athletic team. Plans and directs training of student athletes, and assesses individuals' abilities and skill level to determine appropriate team position. Being a Head Coach (Major Sport) analyzing opposition team performance and capabilities and determines game strategy. Assists players in reaching highest athletic potential possible through athletic training and leadership skills. Additionally, Head Coach (Major Sport) must be familiar with NCAA rules and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in the related area. Typically reports to a institutional officer. Head Coach (Major Sport) is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. Posting TextBlack Hills State University is accepting applications for the position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach for the Athletics Department. BHSU is a member of NCAA DII and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
DUTIES:
Responsibilities include the administration, organization, instruction, development and management of the university’s Women’s Basketball Program. This position is also responsible for developing the basketball program through fundraising initiatives and camps, and additional responsibilities within the athletic department.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree/Master’s preferred
- Related coaching experience; 1-3 years
- Head coach and/or collegiate coaching experience preferred.
COMMENTS:
This is a full-time, 10-month appointment. Anticipated starting date is July 22, 2024.
