Head Coach (Minor Sport) oversees all activities of a minor athletic team. Plans and directs training of student athletes, and assesses individuals' abilities and skill level to determine appropriate team position. Being a Head Coach (Minor Sport) analyzes opposition team performance and capabilities and determines game strategy. Assists players in reaching highest athletic potential possible through athletic training and leadership skills. Additionally, Head Coach (Minor Sport) must be familiar with NCAA rules and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in the related area. Typically reports to a institutional officer. Head Coach (Minor Sport) is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. Northeast Sports Training and Rehabilitation is looking for qualified candidates for a full time performance coach. Northeast Sports Training and Rehabilitation delivers "results-oriented", customized exercise programs and coaching to athletes across all levels and ages.
Compensation varies based on experience, currently possessed certifications, and education.
Responsibilities
- Design, coach, and implement performance training for Team Maryland AAA Hockey program.
- Design performance program and deliver program for individual athletes and for specific team needs and teach proper skills, skill development, and safety considerations for strength and conditioning.
- Analyze individual and team performance needs for sport specific training and performance.
- Ensure athlete safety and well-being in all training sessions and conditioning activities related to strength and conditioning program.
- Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a clean facility including but not limited to sanitizing equipment, mopping and sweeping floors, and removal of trash from facility.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field
- NSCA CSCS certified
- Current certification from NSCA, NASM, or ACSM
- CPR/AED/First Aid certified
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Previous experience in Sports Performance sector preferred but not required
- Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues for program growth and enhancement
