Head Nurse - CCU directs nursing service activities for assigned critical/coronary care unit patients. Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and critical care unit staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of critical care unit patient clinical records, and writes reports on critical care unit staff performance and services rendered. Being a Head Nurse - CCU maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Head Nurse - CCU typically requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - CCU manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - CCU typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     About the role

    The Registered Nurse will provide occupational, primary, and emergency medical services to all project personnel. This will include providing occupational health and injury management advice, support, and direction to enable successful resolution of work injury and health related issues.

    This is a full-time in-person Monday to Friday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm) role for one of our industrial client sites within the Port Arthur, TX area. Candidates must be local to the area and able to commute daily.

    Key responsibilities

    • Administer triage system
    • Facilitate and coordinate required lab work and diagnostic testing or medical imaging requirement
    • Ensure that all medical equipment is in working order and properly maintained
    • Establish and manage a monthly equipment checklist register
    • Establish and manage the asset register
    • Establish and manage the equipment maintenance and calibration schedule
    • Make weekly inventory of drugs, equipment and consumables
    • Coordinate stocking and control of medications and medical supplies
    • Ensure medications and supplies are properly stored and within use by dates
    • Inspect and accept shipments of medications and supplies
    • Maintain a controlled drug register in compliance with all applicable laws
    • Provide immunizations to employees
    • Use the Electronic Medical Records Systems as required and ensure accuracy and maintenance of
    • Monitor the status of Project personnel hospitalized in regional facilities all medical records
    • Participate in scheduled meetings as required
    • Be proficient in physical examinations
    • Carry out safe standards of nursing care according to legislation, Standard Operating Project policies and procedures
    • Be current and certified in Advanced Life Support protocols
    • Plan and control clinic and equipment maintenance program
    • Performs other duties as required.
    • Drug and alcohol screening

    About you

    • Appropriately licensed, qualified, and registered as a RN to practice within the state of Texas
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • Occupational Medicine experience
    • 3 years of emergency/urgent care experience (minimum)
    • Certified as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor (Mental Health First Aid America certification)
