Head Nurse - CCU jobs in Roanoke, VA
Head Nurse - CCU directs nursing service activities for assigned critical/coronary care unit patients. Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and critical care unit staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of critical care unit patient clinical records, and writes reports on critical care unit staff performance and services rendered. Being a Head Nurse - CCU maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Head Nurse - CCU typically requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - CCU manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - CCU typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. - Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU/CCU
- Pay: $110/hr
- Shift Hours: Days/Evenings/Nights
- 13 Weeks Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs, administer medications, and perform treatments.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatments, and self-care.
- Respond to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards.
Requirements:
- RN State License and Updated Resume.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required.
- Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills in high-stress environments.
