Position Objective
Home Health Registered Nurses administer skilled nursing care to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Director of Clinical Services/Nursing Supervisor.
Essential Duties:
The essential functions of this position include--but are not limited to:
- Regularly reevaluates the patient’s nursing needs.
- Performs services in accordance with the plan of care.
- Prepares clinical and progress notes for each patient visit and summaries of care conferences on his/her patients in a timely manner as per Agency policy.
- Coordinates services.
- Counsels the patient and family/significant others in meeting nursing and related needs.
- Participates in and presents in-service programs.
- Processes orders and notifies physician of patient needs and changes in condition.
- Supervises and teaches other nursing personnel.
- Is available for on-call duty nights, weekends and holidays, as assigned.
- Marketing the agency in facilities, medical practices, specialty clinics and the community at large.
- Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
This job operates primarily in patient homes where there are numerous uncontrolled variables.

Expected Core Hours/Days of Work:
Expected core hours of work are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel:
Occasional travel may occur however, it is primarily local during the business day. Occasional out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience:
- Active Nursing License in the State of Kansas.
- Successfully completed an accredited nursing program.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with technology to understand the basic functionality of computers, smart phones, and navigation within common operating systems.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Successfully pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Successfully pass background and reference check requirement.
- Current, valid driver’s license.
- Provide binders showing current automobile insurance meeting state’s minimum requirements.
Work Authorizations:
