Head Nurse - Industrial directs nursing service activities in an industrial setting. Provides care to patients with emergency industrial accidents and surgery outpatients. Being a Head Nurse - Industrial plans and conducts training programs to promote employee health and safety in the workplace. Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and industrial staff nurses. Additionally, Head Nurse - Industrial maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Industrial manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Industrial typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     POSITION OBJECTIVE:

    Manages and Coordinates the provision of nursing care for assigned terminally ill palliative care patients by assessing needs, implementing nursing
    care plans, making appropriate revisions, and evaluating outcomes of care.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
    • Must have a current RN license to practice in the state of Indiana.
    • Must hold current CPR certification or obtain it within the orientation period.
    • Infusion skills preferred.
    • Prefer one (1) year of recent hospital or home health care experience.
    • Must have a valid driver's license and have access to an automobile with current automobile insurance coverage.
    • Must be able to safely perform the job's essential functions without posing a direct threat to the health and/or safety of him/her or others in the workplace.
    • Must be comfortable working with hospice patients, emphasizing palliative care.
    • Assists with in-servicing the community on the hospice philosophy as needed/requested.
    • Ability to recognize the needs and emergencies of hospice and palliative care patients. and provide appropriate interventions.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Strong assessment skills.

      The published compensation range for this position reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The base pay may be higher or lower based on demonstrated job-related experience.
