Head Nurse plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a unit. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training clinical staff. Being a Head Nurse ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating patients. Additionally, Head Nurse requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. We are currently looking for a Speech Therapist to join our team. The position would be responsible for providing speech and language therapy evaluation and treatment to patients in their homes or alternate community settings.
Responsibilities
- Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers.
- Assesses and evaluates client for speech and language therapy needs and develops and implements appropriate plan of action in collaboration with the physician
- Documents all changes in client’s condition and updates care plans and outcomes accordingly
- Identifies counseling needs and plans appropriate teaching strategies
- Monitors quality and appropriateness of services provided
- Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
- Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
- Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position
- Licensed Speech-Language pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- 2-3 years of prior clinical experience and community based experience preferred
- Strong computer skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid NJ drivers license
